Information About Community Options
If you or someone you know currently lives in a nursing facility and would like information about community living, follow these steps to start the conversation with a case manager:
- Find your ASAP
Press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then hit the letter f. A search bar should pop up. Type the name of the place where your nursing facility is located into the search bar to find your ASAP. - Call the ASAP in your area and ask about the CTLP team
Someone from CTLP should schedule a visit to come and see you at your nursing facility to discuss community options or answer any questions you may have. - If you have problems with the CTLP team, please email us at bringingpeoplehome@cpr-ma.org.
Information About Medicaid Waiver Appeals
If you or someone you know currently lives in a nursing facility and applied for a Medicaid Waiver and was denied, you can appeal that denial. Denials come by mail and should say the reason you got denied. The letter has important dates, including an appeal deadline. It is important to start the process or ask for help quickly after receiving the letter.
You may be eligible for legal assistance to appeal a waiver denial. Below are the legal services programs and contact information that have agreed to provide that assistance.
Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS)
If you live in the GBLS service area, you should contact GBLS for help with your appeal. More information here, or you can call (617)371-1234 from 9:30AM – 12:30PM M-F.


Community Legal Aid (CLA)
If you live in central or western Massachusetts, you should contact CLS for help with your appeal. You can apply online here or call (855)252-5342 from 9:30AM – 12:15PM M, T, Th, F, and 1:30PM – 4:15PM Weds.
South Coastal Counties Legal Services (SCCLS)
If you live in the SCCLS service area, including southeastern Massachusetts or the Cape, you should contact SCCLS for help with your appeal. You can apply online here or call (800)244-9023 9:00AM-2:00PM M-Th.


Massachusetts Law Reform (MLRI)
If you are unable to access legal services through one of the firms above, MLRI is offering backup support. Contact bringingpeoplehome@cpr-ma.org or call CPR at (413)586-6024, ext. 2 for a referral.
